ABOUT THE FOUNDER

M.V Varghese

The birth of JKS is an accomplishment of the long cherished desire of Mr. M.V. Varghese, a renewed social worker. He was Inspired and influenced by his veteran father late Mr. M.P. Varghese, renowned for his altruism and social service activities in the Kottayam District of Kerala with whom he had the of PREM (a well reputed NGO in Orissa),

JKS was established in 1991 to work for the poor and down trodden population of Vizianagaram district, in Andhra Pradesh. His efficiency and entrepreneurship has contributed to the enviable growth of JKS making it fist of its kind in various socio economic interventions for the differently abled, visually challenged and other weaker sections of the society including women and children belonging to the tribal community. His outstanding contributions to the amelioration of the conditions of the poor and down trodden community was duly recognized and rewarded both at the state and national level.

With exuberance Mr. M.V. Varghese says, “the radiating smiles of the people for whom I work and the Almighty’s blessings, give me constant strength and stamina to spearhead the revolution of bringing qualitative change in the lives of the most deprived and disadvantaged communities”.

Even after being with JKS for more than a decade, I still feels that our itinerary is only a beginning in the context of the number of socio economic problems still to be tackled and many more vulnerable communities to be brought under its operational constituency. He can not achieve it in isolation, with out the cooperation of each and every one of you. Hence I sincerely look forward for the valuable feed back, financial and technical support from all the well wishers of JKS, to accomplish its dream for a ‘just society’ embedded on the values of social justice, equal opportunity and equitable sharing of the resources enabling the disadvantaged communities to lead a dignified life.
