Jana Kalyana Samakhya – JKS (Which means People’s Welfare Organization) is a registered non-profit, secular voluntary development organization established in 1991 and registered in February 1993, under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. It is also registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, with the Ministry of Home Affairs and 12 (A) of the Income Tax Act. For the last 25yearsJKS has been involved in various socio-economic development programs for bringing qualitative changes in the lives of the excluded and marginalized poor tribal and Dalit people of Vizianagaram District, Andhra Pradesh and Rayagada District of Odisha, India.

Some of the major interventions in its pursuit of various socio-economic development programmes include poverty reduction, promotion of food and nutrition security, empowerment of women,improving livelihood, natural resource management and promotion of sustainable agricultural practices, rehabilitation of children working in worst form of child labour, children’s education and their rights& protection, comprehensive eye care services, Community Based Rehabilitation of persons with Disability,building people’s institution and enhancing their capacities and networking and advocacy.
